Connecticut Innovations is Connecticut's state quasi-public venture arm. It backs Connecticut-based technology companies across artificial intelligence, quantum, climate, bioscience, advanced materials, clean energy, and software, and its funding page shows sizable dedicated pools such as a $50 million AI/Q Fund and a $100 million ClimateTech Fund.

The capital mix includes equity, venture debt, SAFEs, and in-kind assistance. The AI/Q Fund invests in high-potential AI and quantum companies and expects a Connecticut presence; the ClimateTech Fund invests $150,000 to $2 million per company and requires co-investment; Pre-Seed Investment can reach $150,000 with a 50 percent private match; and the Connecticut Bioscience Innovation Fund is a $200 million evergreen vehicle.

CI is built for companies that can relocate, expand, or keep most of their team in Connecticut and that can bring outside capital with them. It works best as a state-backed co-investor that combines money with strategic guidance, introductions, and follow-on support rather than as a grant office. Rolling applications and online pitch submission keep the process open across the fund lineup.
