Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd is Malaysia's federal startup funder. Incorporated under the Ministry of Finance in 2003 and now administered by MOSTI, it backs early-stage technology founders and says it has funded more than 1,000 Malaysian startups.

The sector mix spans AI infrastructure, biotech, hardware, IoT edge, medtech, manufacturing, materials, and energy. Its current grant lanes are CIP Spark, a conditional pre-seed grant of up to RM150,000, CIP Sprint, a conditional convertible seed grant of up to RM600,000, and the BIG Programme, a grant of up to RM2 million. The support is denominated in MYR and is paired with business support, prototype development, market validation, and commercialization work; the public grant index runs on a rolling basis rather than fixed deadlines.

Cradle fits founders who can move from idea to MVP or from prototype to commercial product and who can handle pitching, verification, and milestone reporting. The strongest applicants are technology teams with clear ownership or licensing rights, a credible Malaysian operating footprint, and a concrete route from development spending to first revenue.
