Markedsmodningsfonden (Markets Development Fund)
Funds Danish product development through late-stage validation support for testing, demonstration, and commercialization readiness.
Markedsmodningsfonden (Markets Development Fund) was a Danish state fund that co-financed late-stage product maturation, testing, and demonstration for SMEs in Danish strength sectors — cleantech, life sciences, food technology, and welfare technology. It provided grants covering up to 50% of project costs, requiring private co-investment for the remainder. The fund was established in 2012 under the Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen), replacing the earlier Fornyelsesfonden (Business Innovation Fund, 2010–2012), which itself succeeded the Renewal Fund. Markedsmodningsfonden was wound down in 2018–2019 as part of the Erhvervsfremmereform (Business Promotion Reform). Its innovation and market-maturation tasks were transferred to Innovation Fund Denmark (Innovationsfonden); some related financial instruments transferred to Vækstfonden (Danish Growth Fund). The fund's domain (markedsmodningsfonden.dk) is now dead. The closest current successor program for SME product-maturation grants is InnoBooster, operated by Innovation Fund Denmark.
