Markedsmodningsfonden — Market Maturation Grant

Runs Co-financing late-stage product maturation testing demonstration Danish small medium enterprises.

Markedsmodningsfonden offered co-financing grants for Danish SMEs undertaking late-stage product maturation, market testing, and demonstration activities — bridging the 'valley of death' between completed R&D and commercial market entry. Priority sectors included cleantech, life sciences, food technology, and welfare technology. Grants covered up to 50% of eligible project costs, with the remaining 50% required as private co-investment. The fund was established in 2012, replacing the Business Innovation Fund (Fornyelsesfonden), which succeeded the Renewal Fund. This program is closed. The fund was wound down in 2018–2019 under the Danish Erhvervsfremmereform (Business Promotion Reform). Its tasks were transferred to Innovation Fund Denmark; the closest current successor program is InnoBooster (innovationsfonden.dk).
