EIT Food is one of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology's Knowledge and Innovation Communities, a European Union-backed public-private partnership focused on changing how food is produced, distributed, and consumed. It works across Europe with 233+ partner organisations spanning industry, universities, and research institutes, and its public profile ties it to both direct support and wider ecosystem building in agrifood.

The organisation has deployed €70 million in grants and investments and reports that supported startups have attracted a further €224 million in follow-on capital. Its instruments are mixed: small cash grants, SAFE-based support of up to €50,000 through the Food Accelerator Network validation route, and pre-seed venture-builder funding through Seedbed Venture Catalyst.
