Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education)
Funds Indonesian education and research through a public endowment model supporting scholarships, grants, and study mobility.
Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) is Indonesia's education endowment fund and public service agency under the Ministry of Finance. Established in 2010 and formally launched in 2011, it manages an endowment of IDR 154.11 trillion across education, research, higher education, and culture. Its mandate is to turn long-term public capital into scholarships and research support.
Its funding moves through scholarships for master's, doctoral, and specialist study, plus RISPRO research streams for competitive, invitation-based, and international-collaboration projects. The strongest named routes include LPDP Indonesia Endowment Scholarships and Research and the RISPRO tracks, with the scholarship side reaching a published maximum of IDR 5 billion on the main route. The active scholarship calendar spans partner-university awards as well as regular and targeted national streams.
LPDP sits closer to a national endowment manager than a conventional grantmaker. It combines trustee oversight, partner-delivered scholarships, and research calls that support Indonesian students, universities, and research teams. By late 2025 it had supported 58,360 scholarship awardees and 3,460 research projects, which makes it one of the largest public talent and research platforms in the country.
