Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program — Round 2
Offers matched support for Queensland manufacturers increasing productivity, export pathways, and reshoring potential.
Eligibility · Australia · AU-QLD
The Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program (TQMGP) is a Queensland state government initiative worth $79.1 million over three years, delivering approximately $12–13 million per competitive round across six rounds held every six months. Round 1 closed on 16 April 2026 at 1pm AEST; Round 2 is the next scheduled competitive round, expected approximately six months later. The program replaced the legacy Made in Queensland and Boosting Local Manufacturing programs and is administered by the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development (NRMMRRD). Awards are matched 50:50, ranging from $100,000 to $1,500,000 per project, with 50 percent of total round funding reserved for regional Queensland manufacturers.
Eligibility requires ABN and GST registration, majority manufacturing turnover, a Queensland manufacturing presence with at least five full-time employees in the state, a total workforce of five to 200 FTE, and at least three consecutive years of Queensland operations. Eligible project purposes include establishing export pathways, reshoring or onshoring production, improving productivity and competitiveness, and attracting private investment and creating jobs. Universities, research organisations, nonprofits, and individuals are excluded. The 50:50 match requirement means applicants must fund half the total project cost from their own resources.
Competitive assessment focuses on the strength of the proposed project's contribution to Queensland's manufacturing base, the clarity of the productivity or export benefit, and evidence of financial capacity to deliver the match. Regional applicants benefit from a structural funding carve-out guaranteeing regional access to half the round pool. Applicants should contact NRMMRRD at manufacturing@nrmmrrd.qld.gov.au to confirm the Round 2 opening date, obtain the updated guidelines, and prepare project costings and a manufacturing-impact narrative well before the submission window opens.
Manufacturing productivity, export pathways, reshoring/onshoring, private investment and job creation.
