This call wants investment in infrastructure for the commercial deployment of highly automated vehicles — remote-supervision control centres and digital systems for accurate vehicle positioning and communication with emergency services — using technology already mature enough to exclude research and innovation activities. It can also fund limited road modifications, such as extending merging lanes, where strictly necessary to deploy autonomous vehicles.
