Erasmus+ is the European Union's flagship lifelong learning and mobility programme for the 2021–2027 period, with an estimated budget of EUR 26.2 billion — nearly double the funding of its 2014–2020 predecessor. The programme supports education, training, youth, and sport across Europe and beyond, with a strong emphasis on social inclusion, digital and green transitions, and democratic participation. It offers funding across six sectors: higher education, vocational education and training, school education (including early childhood), adult education, youth, and sport. For Danish organisations, UFSN — the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science, operating under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science — serves as the National Agency, administering application processes and disbursement.

Eligible applicants in Denmark include universities, schools, vocational training providers, adult learning organisations, youth organisations, sports bodies, and individual learners in certain Key Actions. For-profit companies without a public education or training mission are generally not eligible. Key Actions cover learning mobility of individuals (Key Action 1), cooperation partnerships and exchanges of practices (Key Action 2), and support for policy development and cooperation (Key Action 3). Grant amounts and specific eligibility rules vary by Key Action and are published annually in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide at erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu.

The 2026 annual call cycle is confirmed active. Typical application deadlines follow a February and October pattern per Key Action, though exact dates are set by the European Commission. Danish organisations apply through UFSN using the European Commission's Funding and Tenders portal. Contact UFSN at ufs@ufm.dk or +45 7231 7800, Haraldsgade 53, 2100 Copenhagen. The programme is confirmed to run through 2027.
