Funds four €6.75M innovation projects that make circular renovation choices visible in whole-life carbon and energy models.
Renovation projects increasingly use reuse, recycling and other circular strategies, but current life-cycle models do not always capture their changing systems, long service lives or material flows. This scheduled Horizon Europe Innovation Action funds four €6.75 million projects to make circularity decisions more robust and measurable in building-scale assessments.
Projects must develop a cradle…
Develop and demonstrate LCA modelling frameworks that integrate circularity from cradle to cradle for building renovation. Apply them to at least three real buildings in different climatic regions and different Member States or Associated Countries, with ambitious strategies including reuse or recycling and at least one of reduce, repair, refurbish, remanufacture or repurpose. Quantify embodied and operational emissions and life-cycle energy across EN 15978 stages, reduce material flows and GHG emissions, and contribute to net-zero whole-life-carbon buildings, Level(s), WLC models and Built4People knowledge transfer.
