Horizon Circular Construction Products

Funds two €5M projects to make construction products durable, reusable and recyclable, with lower lifecycle impacts and more recycled content.

ScheduledEuropean CommissionEU

Construction uses large amounts of resources and produces a major share of Europe's waste. Better product design can keep materials in use for longer, make buildings easier to adapt and dismantle, and reduce the environmental burden of new construction. This topic funds two projects to bring those ideas into construction products at a working demonstration stage.

Projects can develop, test and de

Developing, testing and demonstrating ecodesign for construction materials and products, including durability, reuse, repair, disassembly, recyclability and recycled content. Projects should address recovered-material reuse, assess circularity incentives and trade-offs, evaluate environmental performance over the lifecycle, and account for contaminants and quality control. The solutions should reach TRL 6-8, involve SMEs and regional ecosystems, and connect with relevant construction and New European Bauhaus projects.
