DEI+ (Demonstratie Energie- en Klimaatinnovatie) is a Dutch subsidy programme administered by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) on behalf of the Ministry of Climate and Green Growth and the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZK). It funds pilot and demonstration projects that test real-world innovations reducing CO₂ emissions in the Netherlands. The 2026 call opened 27 January 2026 and runs on a first-come, first-served basis until budget is exhausted or the window closes — the main streams close 30 July 2026 at 17:00; the Built Environment stream extends to 27 August 2026 at 17:00. Six theme streams are active: general Energy and Climate Innovations, Gasification of Residual Streams (new in 2026), Building Sustainability, Hydrogen and Green Chemistry, Biobased Circular, and Circular Economy (temporarily closed). Projects may run up to four years and must start within six months of approval.

Eligible applicants are entrepreneurs and end-users based in the Netherlands who are testing pilot or demonstration projects — the programme is not limited to research organisations. Both for-profit and non-profit entities may apply. Funding rates are not published directly on the landing page; the hydrogen-strategy stream has referenced a minimum of 25% self-funding requirement (implying up to 75% subsidy), but exact rates are in the scheme regulations (regeling) available on rvo.nl. RVO explicitly recommends submitting a free project idea form before the formal application for pre-application feedback.

Applicants should identify the specific theme stream that matches their technology before applying, as each stream has its own budget and may reach exhaustion at different times. Given the first-come, first-served allocation mechanism, teams with a completed technical concept should apply early in the window rather than waiting for the closing date. The Circular Economy stream is temporarily closed and will reopen when budget is reallocated — applicants targeting that sector should monitor RVO announcements.

Subsidies for Dutch pilot and demonstration projects that test CO2-reducing innovations across energy transition themes including gasification, hydrogen, building sustainability, biobased circular, and green chemistry.
