Funds two €6M research projects that turn systemic-risk evidence into stronger resilience policies for European agriculture, forestry and supply chains.
Agriculture, forestry and their supply chains can be hit by several risks at once: climate hazards, disease, biodiversity loss, economic or geopolitical shocks, trade disruption and changing technology. This scheduled Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action funds two €6 million projects to improve evidence and policy capacity for preventing and managing those crises.

Build evidence and analytical capacity on systemic risks and crises affecting European agriculture, forestry, agri-food and forest-based supply chains. Projects address compound, cascading and amplifying effects of climate change and trade disruptions, measure shock propagation and impacts from local to global and short to long time scales, and assess socio-economic and technological prevention, preparedness, management, adaptation and transformation pathways. Proposals choose Area A (agriculture and agri-food supply chains) or Area B (forestry and forest-based supply chains), combine SSH and STEM, collaborate across the topic and relevant EU initiatives, and translate findings into decision support.
