Horizon EIE: Technology Transfer Offices
Funds five €1M projects that help universities and research organisations turn academic inventions into licences, spin-offs and industry deals.
Universities and research organisations often produce valuable inventions but lack a simple, startup-friendly route to license them or build spin-offs. This topic funds projects that strengthen the Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) connecting academic research with companies, investors and new ventures.
Projects compare and share effective knowledge-valorisation practice, then build a common too…
Helping universities, research and higher education institutions and research technology organisations improve Technology Transfer Office practice so academic intellectual assets reach startups, scaleups and industry. Projects identify and share knowledge-valorisation practice; build startup-friendly licensing and transfer tools with templates, case studies and business models; create fair incentives and benefit-sharing models for researchers and students; and test the tools through at least three pilots. The work feeds a Europe-wide blueprint for licensing, royalty and revenue sharing, equity participation and spin-off creation.
