Independent living requires accessible, affordable and person-centred health, social-care and community services that provide choice and support across the life course. This Research and Innovation Action explores ways to remove barriers, support deinstitutionalisation and empower persons with disabilities to participate in society on an equal basis.

Address at least three areas supporting independent living for persons with long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory disabilities: health causes and treatments; children, young people or older persons; habilitation and rehabilitation; prevention; transition from institutions to community life; or person-centred health and social care. Include accessible services, assistive technologies, disaggregated data, participation by representative organisations and SSH.
