The EU Missions are five ambitious, large-scale research and innovation programmes operating within Horizon Europe's 2021–2027 framework. Each mission is structured around a concrete, measurable goal: Mission Climate Adaptation and Societal Transformation (100 European regions climate-resilient by 2030), Mission Cancer (improving lives of 3 million people by 2030), Mission Restore Ocean and Waters

Five EU Mission areas — Climate Adaptation, Cancer, Ocean and Waters, Smart Cities, and the Soil Deal for Europe — funded through Research and Innovation Actions or Innovation Actions under the 2026–27 Horizon Europe Missions Work Programme.
