Automated Scientific Discovery (RAISE pilot)

Develop safe and trustworthy closed-loop scientific experimentation systems by adding an AI-driven intelligence layer to highly automated and digitalised laboratories. Systems should plan, run and analyse experiments semi-autonomously or autonomously, with human oversight, robust data infrastructures, secure processing and interoperability across instruments, robotics and AI. Demonstrate retrofit into an existing lab without a complete redesign, initially with a materials-science use case such as drug discovery, batteries, photovoltaics, carbon capture, water purification, soil remediation, alternative proteins or sustainable fabrics.
