The Commission wants research on the scope, causes and drivers of undeclared and underdeclared work and the evasion of compulsory worker payments, covering a group of economies with differing levels of the problem. It wants projects to assess which policies actually work to reduce it, and to consider the effect of technologies like digital platforms and generative AI on the phenomenon.
