The call funds research on how to sustainably govern global commons — resources shared by all humanity, from the climate and biodiversity to spaces beyond national jurisdiction such as the ocean, polar regions and outer space. Each proposal must pick one of three thematic areas: climate governance, biodiversity governance, or governance of spaces beyond national jurisdiction, and should map the motivations of state and non-state actors, strengthen science-policy interfaces, and inform the EU's science diplomacy.
