The Commission wants a single Coordination and Support Action that builds a network connecting political, societal and educational stakeholders and researchers on preventing radicalisation, extremism, hate speech and polarisation, drawing on EU initiatives such as the Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalisation and the forthcoming hate-speech knowledge hub under the EU's Code of conduct on countering illegal hate speech online. It wants the network to strengthen the evidence base for policymakers and judicial bodies, help public authorities, law enforcement, NGOs and community actors adapt solutions to their own contexts, and apply a gender-sensitive, intersectional lens to how these phenomena affect different groups. Proposals are also encouraged to link up with related work funded under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme and the Internal Security Fund, rather than duplicate it.
