The Commission is looking for research on digital building blocks that strengthen European satellite communication and Earth observation: better satellite network interconnectivity and interoperability with terrestrial 5G/6G networks, and AI-driven on-board or ground processing that improves the resolution, timeliness and resilience of Earth observation data. Proposals should also cover shared building blocks such as security, resource optimisation and high-performance processing hardware that serve both domains.
