Space Critical Equipment and Related Technologies for EU non-dependence – Chip Scale Atomic Clocks and Solar Cells
Funds two projects, worth up to EUR 4 million each, to develop European-supplied chip scale atomic clocks or space solar cells free of non-EU export restrictions.
Proposals are capped at 80 pages, and every project participant, not just the coordinator, has to fill in a compulsory declaration of ownership and control questionnaire that the coordinator then assembles into one file for submission. The Commission wants European suppliers for chip scale atomic clocks (targeting TRL 6) and space solar cells (targeting TRL 5-6), so each proposal must address only one of the two technology areas. It expects applicants to map the supply chain, document any remaining non-EU dependency, and plan for formal space qualification where the TRL target is 5 or higher.
