The Commission wants research that builds assessment tools and benchmarks for evaluating general-purpose AI models, including multimodal systems, covering both beneficial capabilities and risks such as cybersecurity or CBRN misuse. The work is meant to support the EU AI Office's enforcement of the AI Act and give GPAI developers a way to self-assess compliance.
