Technologies for critical raw materials and strategic raw materials from end-of-life products

Funds industrial-scale recycling and re-use technology that recovers critical and strategic raw materials from end-of-life products such as batteries, electronics and vehicles.

ClosedEuropean CommissionEU

Technologies for critical raw materials and strategic raw materials from end-of-life products is a European Commission Innovation Action that funds three industrial-scale recycling and re-use projects, worth EUR 8 million each, to recover critical and strategic raw materials from end-of-life products such as batteries, electronics, vehicles, wind turbines, solar panels, heat pumps, electrolysers a

The call wants innovation actions that develop high-quality re-use and recycling for named waste streams — electrical and electronic equipment, batteries, vehicles, wind turbines, solar panels, heat pumps, electrolysers and high-performance-alloy tools — covering the whole chain from collection to purified secondary raw materials. Proposals must focus on functional re-use and recycling rather than downcycling, and include a business case for market uptake.
