Innovative manufacturing of wind energy technologies
Funds demonstrations of new wind-turbine manufacturing methods that raise safety, cut costs and boost European production capacity.
Projects must include a go/no-go milestone with detailed engineering plans, techno-economic assessment and permits before demonstration, run the demonstration at realistic scale for at least six continuous months, and assess environmental and socio-economic sustainability. The call wants innovation actions demonstrating wind-energy manufacturing technologies — onshore, offshore or airborne — covering at least three of: better health and safety along the supply chain; reduced energy, material use and pollution; automated or semi-automated manufacturing for higher quality and reliability; and higher-throughput, better-logistics production. Proposals may target specific components such as blades, nacelles, towers, gearboxes, foundations, generators, floaters, mooring systems or kites.
