European investment atlas of potential CO2 storage sites
Pays one project up to EUR 5 million to build a digital atlas ranking Europe's potential CO2 storage sites for investors, in support of the EU's 2030 storage target.

The Commission wants a digital atlas of 'investable' underground CO2 storage capacity across the EU and Associated Countries, updating the existing European CO2 Storage Atlas, to help meet the Net Zero Industry Act's target of storing 50 million tonnes of CO2 a year by 2030. Proposals should assess and compare storage and injection capacity across regions, label each site by its 'storage readiness level', and identify priority regions for further appraisal.
