Using captured CO2 as a resource to replace fossil hydrocarbons in industrial production

The Commission wants technology that converts captured CO2 into synthetic fuels, chemicals, polymers or minerals at lower cost, energy use and environmental footprint, so they can compete with fossil-based products. Proposals must define achievable targets for energy use, cost and yield, set minimum CO2 purity requirements, and run a full life-cycle analysis of the proposed process; enhanced oil, gas or coalbed methane recovery is explicitly out of scope.
