Cybersecure and resilient road e-mobility ecosystem (2ZERO Partnership)
Pays one project up to EUR 10 million to harden electric-vehicle charging networks against cyberattacks ahead of the EU's 2027 Cyber-Resilience Act deadline.
Proposals need to build cyber-resilient hardware and software using state-of-the-art cryptography, including hardware secure modules and post-quantum cryptographic primitives, and extend Public Key Infrastructure deployment specifically to guard against emerging quantum-computing threats. The work should support the Commission's own PKI ecosystem governance built on the ISO 15118-20 standard, and …
The Commission wants a secure-by-design architecture for the whole e-mobility ecosystem — vehicles, chargers, operators and their communication links — that complies with the EU Cyber-Resilience Act by November 2027. Proposals should run threat and risk assessments, build a testing and certification framework including live-attack penetration testing, and demonstrate the results in a real-life charging environment.
