The selected coordinator must already be an active participant in the ERA policy action and must deliver work across all four of its thematic working groups: identifying where new NAMs and shared infrastructure are most needed (WG1); helping Member States and industry jointly decide which NAMs are mature enough to validate and accept into regulatory testing (WG2); mapping and improving education and training on NAMs and the 3Rs principles (WG3); and building common openness policies, including publishing negative or neutral NAM and animal-testing results to avoid needless duplication (WG4). The action must bring together ministries, regulators, research funders, academia, pharmaceutical and medtech industry, contract research organisations, SMEs and startups into one EU-wide forum.
