This topic co-funds new or existing doctoral programmes run by universities, research institutions or other organisations, topping up national or regional PhD training with EU money. Programmes can cover any research discipline, must lead to a doctoral degree in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country, and must give every recruited doctoral candidate a jointly agreed Career Development Plan within 18 months of starting.
