LIFE Clean Energy Transition wants applicants to design, launch and pilot-test a new financing scheme that mobilises private finance for energy efficiency, potentially combined with renewables and energy storage, in at least one eligible country. Eligible mechanisms include blended grants and loans, guarantees and risk-sharing instruments, on-bill or on-tax financing, green bonds and securitisation, crowdfunding, and brokering platforms that match sustainable-energy demand with supply. The scheme must be operational with a real pipeline of investments by the end of the project, even if the investments themselves close afterward.
