The North Dakota Technical Skills Training Grant is a workforce development programme administered by the North Dakota Department of Commerce. It operates three distinct funding tracks targeting different aspects of workforce training within the state. Track A provides up to $200,000 for establishing or expanding accelerated, non-degree training programmes. Track B offers up to $100,000 for internal employee upskilling, requiring a dollar-for-dollar match from the participating employer. Track C awards up to $200,000 for workforce automation training projects or up to $100,000 for related feasibility studies.
Eligible applicants include North Dakota colleges and universities, businesses, training providers, non-profit organisations, city and county governments, and trades organisations, provided they are registered with the North Dakota Secretary of State and maintain in-state operations. The online application portal accepts submissions on a continuous basis; no fixed annual closing date has been published on the programme page, and applicants are directed to consult the current Grant Guidance document for detailed timeline information.
As of 1 January 2025 the programme transitioned from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to North Dakota general fund appropriations under the 68th Regular Legislative Session. Enquiries are handled by Evan Moser at the Department of Commerce (701-328-5324, ejmoser@nd.gov).
Accelerated non-degree workforce training, employee upskilling, and automation workforce development programs delivered by North Dakota colleges, businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities.
