Technical Skills Training Grant
Supports North Dakota workforce growth through training grants for providers and employers in high-demand fields.
The Technical Skills Training Grant is a North Dakota Department of Commerce program for rapid reskilling and upskilling outside traditional degree pathways. It supports colleges, businesses, eligible training providers, non-profits, city and county governments, and trades organizations that are registered with the state and operating in North Dakota. Track A provides up to $200,000 for new or expanding accelerated non-degree programs. Track B offers up to $100,000 for employer-led upskilling with a dollar-for-dollar match, and Track C provides up to $200,000 for workforce automation training or up to $100,000 for feasibility studies. The portal is open and no 2026 closing date is published. Funding moved from ARPA to the general fund on January 1, 2025, which gives the program a more durable state-backed footing. It fits applicants that can show immediate workforce demand, a practical training plan, and a credible path to getting people into higher-skill roles without a long academic lead time.
