The MIT R&D Samenwerkingsprojecten (MKB-innovatiestimulering Regio en Topsectoren) is a Dutch national programme administered by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZK). It supports Dutch SMEs undertaking collaborative R&D projects that cross regional (provincial) boundaries and align with at least one of the nine Dutch national top sectors. The 2026 general application window runs from 9 June to 17 September 2026. A separate AI-focused sub-track ran 7 April–26 May 2026 and is now closed. MIT R&D Samenwerkingsprojecten is the only national MIT instrument remaining for 2026 — knowledge vouchers (Kennisvouchers), TKI-Netwerkactiviteiten, and TKI-Innovatiemakelaars have all been discontinued; regional feasibility studies have been transferred to regional development authorities.

At least two independent SMEs must be part of the consortium, and projects must demonstrably cross regional boundaries. Universities and research institutes may participate as knowledge partners alongside the SME lead. The programme is restricted to for-profit SMEs as lead applicants — nonprofits cannot lead. Applications and the Dutch-language portal are managed through rvo.nl/mit. Award amounts and specific subsidy rates for the general 2026 window are not published on the landing page; applicants should consult the formal scheme regulations (beschikking) published in the State Gazette for per-project caps and eligible cost categories.

Successful proposals identify a concrete technology development goal tied to a top-sector roadmap, involve at least two SMEs with complementary roles and shared financial risk, and articulate how results will cross regional boundaries. The narrow June–September window means applicants should form consortia and draft technical content before the window opens.
