Grønn plattform (Green Platform) 2027 is a large-scale competitive call for research- and innovation-driven green transition projects in Norwegian industry, jointly administered by Innovasjon Norge, Forskningsrådet (Research Council of Norway), and Siva. A total pool of NOK 644.5 million is available for new three-year projects starting in early 2027. Individual awards range from NOK 30 million to NOK 80 million per project, making this one of the largest individual-project grant opportunities available through Innovation Norway.
The call follows a mandatory two-stage process. Stage one requires submission of a concept sketch (skisse) by 4 March at 13:00. Only shortlisted teams from stage one are invited to submit a full application (hovedsøknad), due 3 June at 13:00. Projects must be led by consortia combining companies and research institutes — individual companies or single-organization applications are not accepted. Minimum consortium structure requires both commercial partners and at least one recognized research institution. Projects are three years in duration and must start in early 2027.
Given the NOK 30–80 million award range, Grønn plattform targets ambitious, cross-sector industrial transformation projects rather than single-product innovations. Consortia that span multiple industries, include leading Norwegian research institutes, and address high-impact environmental challenges — such as low-carbon industry, sustainable aquaculture, or circular materials — are well-aligned with the program's objectives. Because three separate government agencies co-assess applications, proposals must satisfy scientific rigor (Forskningsrådet), commercial potential (Innovasjon Norge), and regional industrial development criteria (Siva). Teams should identify the stage-one concept sketch as their primary competitive moment, as selection to the full-application stage is a significant filter.
