The Commission wants a pilot pan-European infrastructure — a shared backbone of reusable services, interfaces and APIs — that ingests, pools, processes and streams professional news and public-interest video content across EU languages, in near-real time. It should use AI for transcription, translation, subtitling and related processing, plus multilingual search and cross-border discovery, so audiences can find and understand trusted news from other Member States.
