This 'Big Ticket' topic funds pilot or demonstration projects on recycling technologies for the steel sector: metal or mineral recovery from pyrometallurgical, leaching or electrochemical processes (including critical raw materials), residue valorisation in low-carbon production routes, scrap detection and management combined with digitalisation and AI, slag applications, and repurposing coking-plant infrastructure for bio-based carbon carriers. Proposals must relate to at least one of these recycling-technology objectives.
