Funds Romanian research organizations' participation in European and international scientific bodies and meetings.

The PNCDI IV Suport Cooperare continuous calls encompass two distinct instruments administered by UEFISCDI under the National Plan for Research, Development and Innovation IV, governed by Ministry Order MCID no. 20621/23.05.2023. The first instrument, Support Projects for Representation, covers the participation expenses of designated Romanian representatives at meetings of European and international bodies where Romania holds formal membership. The second instrument, Support Projects for International Event Organization, covers the costs of hosting meetings of European or international bodies when those meetings take place in Romania. Both instruments operate on a continuous submission basis with no fixed deadline, remaining open through the end of the PNCDI IV program period in 2027.

Eligibility is narrow: only Romanian public research organizations, universities, and accredited nonprofit research institutions that hold a formal mandate to represent Romania at a specified European or international body may apply. For-profit companies, commercial entities, and individual researchers are not eligible. Award amounts are denominated in Romanian Leu (RON). Submissions are made electronically through the uefiscdi-direct.ro portal in electronic or scanned PDF format. No competitive scoring in the traditional sense applies; awards are tied to verified representation mandates and documented event costs.

These instruments serve a specific institutional function — reimbursing Romanian scientific bodies for costs that arise from their formal membership in structures such as CERN, ESA, EMBL, COST, or equivalent multilateral organizations. Institutions that routinely send delegates to European research governance bodies or that host international scientific meetings in Romania should maintain an awareness of these instruments as a standing cost-recovery mechanism. Applications are most straightforward for organizations that already hold documented representation mandates and can attach official invitation letters or membership credentials.
