Scholarships for Students at 1890 Institutions (1890 Scholarships)

Funds the nineteen 1890 Land-grant institutions to recruit, mentor and retain undergraduate and graduate students studying food and agricultural sciences.

ClosedUSDA National Institute of Food and AgricultureUnited States

Only the nineteen 1890 Land-grant institutions named in the Second Morrill Act, including Tuskegee University, may apply, and only if they already operate a competitive scholarships awards process. No cost-share or matching is required, and nearly all applications are funded.

The 1890 Scholarships program encourages outstanding students at 1890 institutions to pursue and complete baccalaureate and graduate degrees in food and agricultural sciences, building a skilled food and agricultural systems workforce. Institutions receive the funds and run their own competitive scholarship awards process for students.
