This funding supports capital investment to develop, upgrade or equip nationally significant facilities and capability platforms for conservation and heritage science. Eligible costs include equipment, facilities and supporting infrastructure, specialist IT equipment, software, essential digital infrastructure, and capitalisable collaborative activities with industry partners.

Supports capital and capitalisable expenditure that develops conservation and heritage science infrastructure and expands analytical capability. It will not support original research unrelated to capability development, collection digitisation except where essential to developing or testing capability, training programmes except training required for project staff to operate the capability and support user access, studentships or postdoctoral research associates, or events and conferences.
