Focal awards: multilingual futures for UK growth and connectivity

AHRC will fund doctoral focal awards to recruit and train doctoral students through a training grant consortium. Funding covers 12 to 20 studentships over four cohorts, with up to four years per student for stipend and fees, individual training and development, and cohort-based training and development.

The theme supports language-grounded research, broadly determined as expertise in indigenous, national, regional and global languages, cultures and societies. It does not fund original research; it supports the training and development of students through a consortium. Master’s level training is not eligible.
