This is a capital grant scheme for public-sector organisations to upgrade or replace existing assets so they can support 4G and 5G mobile equipment.

Funded work can include replacing outdated lighting columns, installing or upgrading power supplies, installing fibre backhaul or ducting, improving access to structures, and strengthening structures for telecommunications equipment.

Funds upgrades or replacement of existing public-sector assets to support 4G, non-standalone 5G and standalone 5G technology. Eligible work may include lighting columns, power supplies, fibre backhaul or ducting, access to structures, and structural reinforcement for telecommunications equipment. Supported assets must be available to commercial operators through non-exclusive Open Access Agreements or equivalent non-discriminatory arrangements.
