Horizon Resilient PNT and E-Conspicuity
Funds one €5M Innovation Action to make aviation navigation and low-altitude collision awareness more resilient beyond GNSS.
Europe’s positioning, navigation and timing services rely heavily on GNSS, whose weak signals can be jammed, spoofed or degraded. This scheduled Horizon Europe Innovation Action funds one €5 million project to develop resilient fallback and complementary PNT solutions for aviation, including unmanned aircraft, and safer low-altitude operations.\n\nThe project should integrate 5G/6G, IoT, sensing a…
Develop and validate complementary and fallback positioning, navigation and timing solutions for aviation and UAS when GNSS signals are lost or degraded. Integrate 5G/6G, IoT, sensing and advanced signal processing for accurate, redundant and secure navigation in contested environments, with appropriate post-quantum cryptography. Define mobile-network performance and minimum availability for e-conspicuity and collision avoidance between drones and manned aircraft in low-altitude and U-space airspace, and analyse privacy, spectrum, international cooperation and regulatory harmonisation.
