NSF Dynamic Language Infrastructure - NEH Documenting Endangered Languages
Funds the recording, analysis and archiving of languages at risk of falling out of use. NSF and the humanities endowment pay for it jointly.
Roughly half of the world's seven thousand or so living languages are expected to fall out of use. This partnership between NSF and the National Endowment for the Humanities pays for the work of capturing them before that happens, and for building the computational infrastructure that research on them depends on.
