GrowKS Loan Fund is a Kansas small-business loan program capitalized through the U.S. Department of the Treasury's State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) 2.0. Kansas received approximately $69 million in total SSBCI 2.0 allocation — more than four times its prior SSBCI 1.0 award — shared across the loan, equity, and multi-fund components. The loan program is jointly administered by the Kansas Department of Commerce and NetWork Kansas, with loan delivery through a network of approved Certified Development Companies and other nonprofit resource partners.

Loans match private capital from a qualified financial institution such as a bank or CDFI, with individual awards up to $1 million per business. Repayment is required; this is not a grant. The program targets for-profit Kansas businesses and prioritizes rural and urban-distressed geographies and underserved owner demographics including minority-owned, women-owned, and economically disadvantaged enterprises. Eligible sectors span manufacturing, agtech, hardware, and similar capital-intensive industries. There is no fixed application deadline; intake is rolling subject to available capital allocation.

Businesses cannot apply to GrowKS directly. Prospective applicants must first establish a connection with a NetWork Kansas-approved resource partner — which may be a CDC, a nonprofit technical assistance provider, or a participating eCommunity. The resource partner guides the application and structures the match alongside a qualifying bank or CDFI. Contact NetWork Kansas at info@networkkansas.com or 1-877-521-8600 to identify the nearest approved partner and begin the eligibility conversation.

SSBCI-funded loans up to $1 million matching private capital from banks or CDFIs for Kansas small businesses, prioritizing underserved and rural communities.
