JobsOhio is Ohio's private nonprofit economic development corporation, headquartered at 41 S High Street, Columbus, OH, and funded through Ohio Lottery and liquor profits rather than state taxes. It administers workforce development programs alongside its capital grant and loan portfolio. The JobsOhio Workforce Grant is a reimbursement-based program designed to help Ohio employers in targeted industries train and upskill their existing workforce, covering eligible training costs for IT skills, skilled trades, leadership development, and other specialized training areas.

The program is continuously open — no fixed application deadline applies. Eligible applicants are for-profit businesses operating in one of JobsOhio's ten targeted industries; nonprofit organizations, universities, and individual applicants are not eligible. Consumer retail businesses are explicitly excluded. The reimbursement model means the employer pays training costs upfront and applies for reimbursement after training is completed, rather than receiving funds in advance. Award amounts are determined case by case and are not publicly disclosed on the program page; the program guidelines, available through JobsOhio, govern the specific reimbursement percentages, per-employee caps, and eligible training provider requirements.

The Workforce Grant is one component of JobsOhio's broader talent and workforce strategy, which also includes its Talent Acquisition Service and Relocation Incentive programs. Applications are coordinated through JobsOhio's regional network partners — the same seven organizations that administer the Small Business Grant, including Team NEO, Columbus Region, and REDI Cincinnati. Employers interested in this program should contact JobsOhio at (614) 224-6446 or contact@jobsohio.com or reach out to the relevant regional economic development partner in their area to begin the eligibility conversation.
