ECosystem for Leading Innovation in Plasma Science and Engineering (ECLIPSE)
Funds plasma science aimed at real technological problems β manufacturing, microelectronics, agriculture, sensors, nanomaterials.
Plasma science pulls together plasma physics, plasma chemistry, materials science and space science, and this programme exists for the work that falls between them. It is a meta-programme spanning several NSF directorates, deliberately built so proposals that struggle to find a natural home in the usual hierarchy have one.
The aim is translational: bringing fundamental plasma science to bear on pβ¦
Translational plasma science and engineering aimed at societal and technological need β plasma-surface interactions for manufacturing and catalysis, atmospheric-pressure plasmas and microplasmas for microelectronics, agriculture and environmental remediation, dusty plasmas for nanomaterials, sensors and diagnostics, computational modelling of multi-phase plasma systems, and plasmonics.
