Funds evidence-based study of research security itself — the threats, the risks, the policies and what they do to how people work.
Research security became a policy concern faster than it became a field of study, and this programme funds the catching up. Its aim is to advance understanding of the scope, potential, challenges and nature of research on research security through scholarly evidence.

Evidence-based research on research security as an emerging field — the nature and pervasiveness of threats, methods for identifying, preventing and mitigating risks, strengthening protocols, the interaction of human behaviour with security policy, the implications of those policies, and organisational and cultural change around them.
