Space Florida — Israel Innovation Authority Partnership
Supports Florida and Israeli aerospace teams through a bilateral collaboration between Space Florida and Israeli counterparts.
Eligibility · United States, Israel
The Space Florida — Israel Innovation Authority Partnership is a bilateral R&D grant programme jointly funded by Space Florida and the Israel Innovation Authority (formerly the Office of the Chief Scientist). Since its establishment in 2013, the partnership has invested more than $22 million across joint projects, with an annual combined budget of approximately $2 million per year. The 2026 Call for Projects was open at the time of research in May 2026. Eligible R&D topics include satellite communications, microgravity research, artificial intelligence, and micro- and nano-robotics.
Every project must include exactly one Florida-based company and one Israel-based company; solo applicants or teams without the bilateral structure are ineligible. Applicants must demonstrate near-term commercialization potential and economic benefit to both Florida and Israel. Per-project award amounts are not publicly disclosed; the joint pool is approximately $2 million per year shared across selected projects. Each agency scores applications independently — Space Florida evaluates the Florida applicant, and the Israel Innovation Authority evaluates the Israeli applicant — and a joint funding decision is made. Past recipients include Lockheed Martin, Sidus Space, KBR Wyle Services, and MySky Eco, indicating that both large primes and SMEs have been funded.
Applications are submitted via the Space Florida portal; no deadline date was published on the programme page at the time of research. The call is an annual recurring solicitation, and teams should monitor spaceflorida.gov for the next cycle announcement. Strong applications demonstrate commercial readiness, complementary capabilities between the Florida and Israeli partners, and clear economic impact in both regions.
