Alaska SBIR/STTR Matching Grant
Offers local partners through Alaska Federal Innovation Match Grant, helping them support early-stage small-business projects.
The Alaska SBIR/STTR Matching Grant is DCCED's state match for Alaska companies holding active federal SBIR or STTR awards. It sits inside Alaska's economic-development system and is designed to extend federal research awards rather than replace them. The grant is available to Alaska-based small businesses with a principal place of business in the state, active SAM and UEI registration, an Alaska business license, and good standing with state corporate and professional licensing offices. FY2025 used a $125,000 appropriation, with awards of up to $25,000 for Phase I or bridge support, up to $25,000 for a Phase II initial award, and up to $75,000 more for Phase II supplements, for a maximum of $100,000 per award. The program is annual and the FY2026 cycle was pending appropriation in the source material. The strongest applicants are those already holding federal SBIR/STTR traction and able to show that at least 51 percent of grant-funded activity will happen in Alaska. Review is first come, first served, so completeness and federal leverage matter as much as the project itself.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
